About The Workshop
This workshop is designed to impart the skills on both theoretical and practical aspects of the pharmacometric approach. The workshop is elementary hands-on in nature that participants with diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise who are interested in executing pharmacometric-based studies may benefit. Participants will gain an appreciation for the essentials of study designs, types of data that meets the needs for pharmacometric-based studies, sufficient data collection and learn how to proactively plan in order to maximize study effectiveness. Facilitators will provide examples from their experience on pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic studies to illustrate best practices for implementation and overcoming problems throughout the research studies.
The workshop content is provided as a combination of lectures, review of data, example of codes, and data analysis results, in addition to hands-on exercises. Following the workshop, the participant should be able to understand the conceptual basis and rationale for the population approach to pharmacometric-based study, where and when population methods may be optimally applied and the basic understanding to the format for fundamental NONMEM® datasets.
The workshop will cover:
– Introduction to pharmacometric-based study
– Non-linear fixed effect modeling
– Sources of data and types of parameters
– Sampling technique and data collection
– Hands-on case studies
– How to understand population pharmacokinetic literature
